Judging by the amateurish writing, I can almost believe it was from an internal group to test my loyalty. But no, it was just an amateur tech recruiter.
I'm surprised they are being so bold.

What is unethical about trying to help you find a job?
Many companies won't deal with a recruiter. A recruiter is just a middle person that takes a cut for doing something you can do yourself. They have merit in advertising little-known companies, but I literally get five per week. Most for jobs that don't even apply to me or want me to get a clearance and work on-site for 40hr/wk. I know what jobs are out there that I want and I don't need someone taking a cut to connect me.

It's like saying a sales person should never call accounts that use their competition.
Oh man, a recruiter was smart enough to reach out to a reputable company doing a mass layoff and try to help find people jobs.
Actually sounds a bit cheeky.
Oh man, a recruiter was smart enough to reach out to a reputable company doing a mass layoff and try to help find people jobs. Sounds like a huge pain we should report him. I can’t believe the nerve they would have to reach out to people who will be in the job market and try to place them somewhere else. I wish they would just leave everyone alone.
I had a recruiter find and call my partner's cell phone. Some are ready to bend all kinds of ethics to make a dollar.
When the buyout was first announced I was approached by a much larger company... I took the offer.
Er, this has happened at basically every job I've had. Its just a tactic some recruiters use. I wonder how many bites they get.
Who cares?
Maybe it was an AI.
