Thread regarding BP PLC layoffs

Got rejected from BP... why do they use hirvure for screening? I would rather talk to an HR person than just sit there talking to myself

Everything looks fine on paper until you interview them. The hirevu is to weed out candidates so we don't waste time interviewing those that can't put together a coherent thought or ramble on off topic.

Yes, unfortunately, the very in personal experience of HireVue is here to stay and is used broadly across all industries..
Only suggestion is to get used to it, and learn to talk to a static camera and remember to smile !

Hirevue isn’t exclusive to bp. So many companies use it now. I’m not a fan of it either but it’s the norm now. They do it to try and screen through more candidates quicker
