Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Question: time of notice

I plan to be in at 8am. If its me who is affected, will I get notify early? Whats your experience with the timing of past layoffs.

Good luck everyone. If you and I are affcected I hope everything works out for us. And good luck also to those who stay.

Typically you’ll get pinged or called in the morning. They try to get it done as early as possible. In the afternoon there is typically a meeting to let people know who they will be reporting to, any re-orgs, etc.

WT garage always has cars in it now, it's never empty, but not capacity.

They try to finish this off usually by noon.

Usually they try to take care of it in the morning. Then sometime in the afternoon they might update those that are safe depending on the lead. but if it's a smaller layoff they might just keep it quiet.

I would say things will start around 10am. Also mark my words, the WT SD parking garage will be filled up before 9am. Any other day, the garage is empty. Will be glad when the 2mo anticipation will be over with whatever the outcome. Good luck folks!

What if your cell phone, email, teams and land line and laptop are all off?

It depends on the the leads who will break the news. Last time around, I got a call to my cell whule I was on lunch break and I was asked to go to a privacy room and make a teams video call and he broke the news to me.
