myself, along with many others have been informed last week that we are being let go due to WFR
Not surprising given HP's outlook

HP once a great company failed to evolve by placing all it's eggs in one basket (Printing/PC). Those who don't evolve will die.
Yes, ACS is Jim's organization. It's a wild card of people who are getting let go, just like CMIT, and soon DnA...
HP is cleaning house. If you are redundant, you're not safe.
Advanced Compute Systems
Still no idea what ACS is.
I was laid off a few weeks ago from HP.
These layoffs this year have been more stingy than before. If you had the smallest negative thing on your last year's performance review, you were selected by HR to leave. It may not even be particularly negative, it could been just something to improve on but HR is not going to see it like that. They have been very unforgiving and desperate to look for any excuse to select you, don't feel bad.
The bottom line right now is clear: retain cash flow to hand out dividends. HP is being extremely greedy right now.
You'll find a new job quickly. I've been able to land multiple interviews so far after my exodus, even with HPE. The job market is not like it was during covid, which is surprising to know considering that we are supposedly headed towards a recession.
Don't fret. You're not the problem, HP is the problem. Executive leadership is performing horribly so they're going to take it out on people who have unfortunately been more successful. It's not fair to receive the wrath of executives who fail with their strategy.
My advice is to start networking and review all of your skills and experiences. Rewrite your resume to include that. Consider every one of your colleagues outside of HP at their companies as a potential opportunity for a job. You may want to also consider moving horizontally in your career: for instance, if you're an engineer, consider jobs like product development or business analytics. If you limit your options to only the profession you have been doing, you'll stress yourself to only look for that job. Your skills and experiences should be considered to be flexible to the point where you can do something other than what you have been doing.
Good luck and just remember to reflect on everything your career has given you so far. You'll find something much better soon with much better pay.
Sorry to hear. What org and country?
What is ACS? What’s the severance?

Very sorry to hear this, but life will be much brighter after leaving this sinking ship. Right now Enrique and his minions are looting what is left of the company through spending the cashflow on stock buybacks which only benefits them.
Please share any information about severance if you can. I hear it is pretty stingy.
