will we atleast make it through for a year without layoffs again? Or did the CEO just make that up and say no more reduction after this.

Top leadership is filled with spineless sycophants.... They will always reward themselves in good times and punish other in difficult times. Don't know when you guys stick around and not leave earlier like I did.
If this is not the last layoff, cristiano better be going. We are all holding him to his word that he would go if more go
The board must have given him an ultimatum, either turn things around or you are out. Meaning he will be out in next big round (if it comes.)
Been around for awhile and seen many CEO's qtrly talk. His qtrly all-hands are a joke, embarrassing.
He said no more layoffs in this magnitude while he is the CEO. Which can mean that if he resigns next year, QCOM can do more layoffs all they want.
Executives are the one the being paid 10s of millions not the average worker.
They are the one laid to have some vision not the engineers.
But the common workers and engineers are the one getting hit not the Executives.
There is absolutely no accountability for failures or incompetency.
Massive blame game happening here. I realize everyone is upset, but please don’t say things you can’t back up. Everyone is getting hit hard by this economy. And China is forcing businesses to use local resources. Rather than Point fingers at Qualcomm’s leadership, hold the real criminals, the politicians, accountable.
@wca why don't you shut the f up instead? It gives h1bs like myself prepared and more time to send resumes out as head start. There are also people who don't have rainy day funds that need all the extra time. If you want to get laid off without prior warning, go join a faang. Preferably Google where a security guard will make you swipe your badge. If fails, congrats you are laid off without needing to tax your mind
Cristiano, next time please shut the f*** up and dont let people know 2 months in advance you are doing layoffs. 1 week is enough to have thousands overthinking about it.
CA’s words are less and less convincible now.
This won't be the last lay off for sure.
Its all number driven.
Qualcomm over hired a lot in last 3 years.
Bottom line.. executives are using macro economics as an excuse for their incompetence and failure.
