Thread regarding Adidas layoffs

House Cleaning in Adidas NAM

The three leaders who ruined Adidas North American in two years: Rupert Campbell, Katie Post and Raphaela Lessman, each contributed markedly to the demise of a once great brand in the biggest sportswear market in the world.

Rupert couldn’t run a market of this size and complexity and was a terrible narcissist of a leader. Mixed reception by the org. Either way…Finally out.

Katie didn’t know squat about Merchandising and only promoted former Nike clowns who were also ignoramuses. Loathed by her former team. Finally out.

Raphaela couldn’t tell you the different between the P&L and P&G. She doesn’t understand sportswear. Loathed by her team. She will continue to ruin the business with her naïveté and ineptitude. Oh, but she’s pretty. I guess that is enough for the Herzo boys.

Who is the SCM lead “He”, I thought the SCM lead in NAM is now a woman?

Exiting RC was a great start - he saw himself as a king and his priorities were clear. Being an influencer, growing followers on social media and being tagged in pictures with top athletes/musicians. Good riddance.

Next can we clean house with others in NAM - the IT lead who ticks DEI boxes but has zero qualifications, the SCM lead who is openly racist and only got promoted due to his GOPS connections, and how about the college football player in Business Development who plays politics all day while pretending to do real work?

Meanwhile, individual contributor workloads are multiplying and we are told to "do more with less" while having the threat of constant layoffs over our heads. How am I supposed to perform in this environment knowing my daughter's health care is dependent on this cr-p job? Impossible is staying motivated in this toxic NAM culture!

This post isn't false but...hardly a complete list of NAM SLT leadership failures. Look at the joke that is NAM-IT under the DEI hire (who negotiated a Portland salary then got an exception for permanent fully remote in the Midwest). Or the Moscow VP in NAM-SCM who was almost fired for his well-known racism but then got promoted due to his Dima connections. And let's not forget NAM HR - the most toxic of all departments.

So much good talent driven out the door in the last 3 years in NAM - many of them through layoffs because they openly called out NAM leadership failures. I've been here for 10+ years and morale is lower than ever. Needless to say I am looking for a new job!

People who know Björn, know he can't stand bullsh-t leaders and holds his leadership team accountable for people management, culture and results.
Good riddance!

Kissing a-s anonymously won’t get you a promotion, you should put your name on the post so everyone knows how much you love boot licking.

Wow.. such pointed views and personal attacks. Why don’t you put your name to the post? How are you contributing to making NAM a better place to work? You sound incredibly unhappy.

Leave the name calling behind and focus on getting to a better place together
