I am thinking of retiring after 40 years of service with ADP..has anyone received a severance package at time of retirement?

The severance question has already been answered. However, I couldn't help but notice how mean and bitter the 3 previous responses were. The person that submitted the post might have worked worked for ADP for 40 years. I finished almost 40 years myself. Perhaps this person did not work in Payroll, or HR, but I admit to being surprised regarding the question on severance.
Who works at this company for 40 years???
You are a fraud...
Before I retired I worked with a project manager that worked at ADP for 48 years before he retired.

You seem very d-mb and makes me wonder how you made it 40 years. There will be no severance for you my friend.
I just love the idea of an ADPer who worked here for 40 years and didnt know what severance was.
How did you work at a PAYROLL company for 40 YEARS and not know how severance works???
When I retired a few years ago I tried to get my supervisor to fire me first so I could get that 6 months severance. He wouldn't do it but the same day I officially retired, he fired 2 others on our team (they both deserved it fwiw)
Wow, 40 YEARS? that is amazing and dedication to this company. :)
If they retire the associate they’ll get 6 months severance.
Drop hints you may retire and when spring RIF’s take place maybe they’ll pick you and you get the 6 months.
Thank you for 40 years, you’ve seen a lot of change and met many wonderful friends I bet.
Take good care.
also being laid off or having your job eliminated. Congratulations on your retirement, if you decide to do so. Leave before they decide to retire you.
You don't understand how severance works, do you?
Hint: it is what happens when the company fires you, not when you leave on your own.
