Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Pause. Relax. Continue.

It’s good to take time out to pause, relax, and appreciate all we have around us; sometimes we need to stop to remind ourselves of the big picture before we continue.

We all tripping I can’t believe hock has us allllll depressed. It’s sad but true we are overpaid at VMware and may never find another job like this again. It’s sad cause when dell let us go I thought it’s our time to shine as a company !

not sure about you guys, but i am certainly not being paid as well as I should be. VMware's salary is still 20% to 40% lower than the big boys.. So, lets hope your salary does not peak here.

Most of us will take years to find a job that pays as well, if ever.

Careers are not a straight line. They go up and down. I've taken a pay cut with every job change, but in exchange received a better work-life balance. Over a few years pay catches up.

You may never find a job that pays as well again. And you need to accept that. Salary wise, some would peak here. But doesn't mean their career peaked.

The big picture is some anonymous judge is giving thumbs-up or thumbs-down on our careers, with no possibility of appeal. Most of us will take years to find a job that pays as well, if ever.
