Today my manager had a meeting with me and told me I was going to be laid off… it’s very sad to hear that since I have worked for 6 years at Qualcomm. I loved working here and love the people I work with.. I still have mortgage and honestly don’t know how to pay that… one thing I don’t quite understand is that why Us the low level engine get cut off when the fault is on higher management’s incompetence. We just follow orders do engineering part, they should think about future direction…anyway good luck on other guys.

To those who think this is fake, if you have a good relationship with your manager, many are giving their reports unofficial notification if they are affected or are safe. Mine has told me that I'm safe, ultimately they don't want people to leave that they actually intended on keeping. So if they aren't telling you, then you can judge for yourself where you fall on the totem pole and what they think of you.
Go and buy layoff insurance or job loss insurance asap
OP is trolling
Possibly a true statement. Manager can give you a heads-up that you are likely to be on the list, even if he/she hasn't received the final version yet. That happened with me in the previous round a few months ago. To be honest, I appreciated the heads-up, although if you still have a mortgage and family responsibilities I can understand how it can be anxiety inducing. Sometimes this kind of change leads to something even better, so just focus your energy on doing something positive.
OP sounds like fake to me.
Seriously!!! I doubt .. no management has been given the final list!
JFC @hal+1owNV0Ij have some empathy.
Sorry to hear about it OP. Silver lining is that you at least got to hear early. Hope you're already prepping and interviewing. Wish you the best.
We you given a package? When is your last day?
