Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Why did we spend so much on M&A?

Why did we waste our money on so many acquisitions?

M&A is normal for tech companies, avgo used it to raised its capital value. Apple does that too all the time. The problem is how to utilized acquired company to make something market needs in large amount. OP apparently doesn’t know anything about strategy and kinda naive and pretend to know everything. Learn more and work harder, stop posting something you don’t even understand.

M&A is fine, but it should be directed to acquisitions of good moat and decent profit margins. It flies in the face of logic as to why Q would want to get into the compute market where long established players are making the thinnest of margins. The logic of saying that our compute devices have a full day of battery life gets absurd when a MB-Air can do better than that.

M&A has been in Qualcomm’s business model for over 20 years. M&A is nothing new just show how little you know about the company you work for
