I asked to go remote after covid not wanting to return to the office, when I can do the same job at home no difference.
But because of my age and wanting to go remote they gave me approximately $150k package.

The severance of going to be pittance for people fired "with cause" .... Folks resisting or ignoring RTO will find out the hard way.
The whole idea of a package is to buy you off a form of extortion.

For people that have been in QCOM for a while, it can be a great deal to get the package, especially if they have other options to replace income, I got 6 figures as well ~ 8 mo severance + RSUs. Perfect timing now that it seems QCOM has a lot of headwinds, and was eager to try something new personally. But I hope it turns around for the people mostly fresh grads and young engineers who are left holding the bag and have just started their corporate journey/learning.
The only leech is a company that uses its employees and throws them away like old trash

@twl+1ov1g9KH you should negotiate hard and see of you can push your package to 12 months. If you know the right people, you won't even have to negotiate. Just ask.
Good for you OP. 50+ here! I'm still at Q but hoping for the package. I own 4 homes in Mira Mesa, 3 of which are making passive income. I already have another RF gig (not in mobile) lined up. If i get the package, based on HR hub information and friends that were in last RIF, I'll get 8mo salary not including 11/20 RSUs that I believe will get paid out as well.
I think this round they are capping severance hence no voluntarily lay off .
