Are you sure it will be in October?
Too much money being made with enormous fuel prices to start laying off now, unless the game is "create a sense of urgency' so prices can go $higher$. Layoffs and unscheduled maintenance could bring about shortages in fuel, higher demand and hey maybe even more$$$$, just none for the poor worker.
No new rumors? Almost October
Hourly wasn't cut in 2020 and won't be now. It will be via attrition for hourly.
One would think the fat at the top would be trimmed first, however the big wigs are drunk on efficiencies and think they can micromanage less hourly employees into doing more work. Hourly will be cut to bare minimum too.
Just refining jobs here or does it include things like accounting and business development?
I don't know why you're talking about bidding down... any job that is bid based isn't going anywhere unless they shutdown a whole plant (not happening right now). They aren't laying off hourly.
Will there be layoffs at Catlettsburg , Ky. refinery ?
A good time to bid down to floor sweep.
Bid down to most the unwanted, dirty jobs and stay out of easy do nothing jobs like control room operators and the like. Gives some insulation to coming storms ahead along with seniority. Work shifts nobody wants. Ex: Hospitals never lay off CNA's because its a dirty job nobody covets or wants. But they sure will layoff the high dollar cush jobs first.
Plenty of fat it corporate refining group. But they will probably cut at the plants and keep making them more dangerous instead.
I don’t know about cuts. Maybe opportunities not to replace folks as they retire or quit. Also I think there’s awareness of issues with at least a couple of refinery leads. Can’t say that I know much about directors or corporate. I think there’ll be some manager shakeups at at least a couple sites by October….
How does one go about getting on the list?

Hearing the same thing. I’m in corp refining and they need to seriously trim the fat at the top. Army of directors and 2 senior vice presidents without any real responsibility. But they’ll come for the rest of us first
Rumors abound.
