More fake information from someone that knows someone that is just jealous he's not Vena.

3 shops for a fleet of thousands of locomotives (and cars) sprawled across the entire western half of the USA? Good luck with that.

I didn't see the word locomotive anywhere. Go ask the folks in East Palestine, Ohio when a car gets a hot bearing and doesn't get fixed.

The key word is mechanical, everyone always thinks that is locomotive…

Ok no one at HQ has ever shared layoff information like this until it actually happened. So I think it's a bit odd to actually have information like this and to be sharing it here, even though the people it's going to affect are still currently employed. That idea alone goes against the practice of walking people off of the property to avoid people seeking revenge on the company. Do you or the "source" really think everyone is going to leave peacefully? The other thing I have to ask is who's the one been correct on all of the info? I'm only asking that because the OP and the first reply seem to be the same person. The "pit stop" locations or smaller servicing areas are necessary at many places. It's going to be quite hard to service or repair engines at the 3 or 4 locations when that train is broken down and unable to move thats also hundreds of miles from the nearest location. You also said that Vena only wants 3 or 4 locations to service power, but then towards the end you said 3. So which is it, 3 or 4? If the "source" has been right all of this time, then why the uncertainty in remaining locations. Even if it is true, then how long do you really think it'll last? Have you seen the UP equipment lately? Are you aware of the service issues that warranted the government hearings? I'm not trying to argue with anyone on here, but the layoffs and the closing of locations is exactly what started all of this. Keep in mind that Vena doesn't hold three separate titles like Fritz did. He doesn't have as much power as some people think he does.

All locations with less than 100 employees will be shutdown and either sold or torn down to eliminate the costs. A source in the HQ building has shared this with multiple others including myself. He’s been correct on all his info. Vena only wants 3-4 locations system wide and eliminate the “pit stops” in the middle. Only 3 shops will remain open and will be in charge of maintaining the fleet of locomotives.
