My manager let it slip that most remote folks were on the chopping block for October layoffs. It is possible I misinterpreted what he said. Have you folks heard anything about remote folks.

Managers definitely know who, they didn't necessarily get asked who to get rid of.
The decision is made at a very high level. VP and above, but messages could be getting sent. If there has been a problem getting people to return to the office, a VP could use that as a criteria. Especially in San Diego.
Control your destiny ask to go remote. I did and got the package just like I wanted. 👍
The remote people, who refused to come in, should be happy. Now they can permanently stay home.
