I’ve been here for less than a year and the culture is so bad here. You can’t chat with coworkers in your cubes, you have to have your phone on silent, you can’t answer phone calls in your cube. There’s a cult here. Management doesn’t acknowledge you when you walk by to say hi. I can go on and on. This place is terrible to work for.

I have never heard of no talking or no phones. We have a normal office life in my building there.

It entails that if you’re ugly then you’re safe from layoffs at AMAT
So that entails being a YES person or not disagreeing with mgmt no matter how far off the mark they may be. Could also involve fetching coffee refills and taking lunch orders?

Interesting! How are you supposed to collaborate with your team or other teams if you cant wander over and have a conversation? Is the expectation that everyone just sit in the cubical and just send emails and TEAM messages and only leave their pod to go to the bathroom and or lunch break?
If you wanted to...how would you break into the cult? What would make them welcome you with open arms?
