Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Any layoffs in NUVIA team ?

I heard that there will not be any headcount reduction in CPU team. Is that true?

They layoff original SnapDragon core team in RTP which delivered krait and kryo cores. And then spent huge money buying nuvia for doing nothing for 3+ years already. Qualcomm just want the Apple name and don't care the result. So stupid and so politics.

NUVIA? Agree, what a disaster! Going on 3 years and no product. From the benchmarks, it still doesn't compete with Apple. A $1.4B waste. Get rid of JT & CA, flush the NUVIA team.

The whole NUVIA experience is a disaster! First the Qualcomm attorneys that reviewed and signed off on the NUVIA contract should be fired! In all likelyhood Q will pay significantly higher royalties or not be able to use any work product from the team. Secondly, targeting laptop applications is a loser since the space is already saturated. Q had it's shot at ARM server and blew it by disbanding the custom team that had a great design. The NUVIA design is way too big for smartphones. Yes, it's another example of Qualcomm mismanagement. Get rid of the CTO & CEO, that's what's really needed.

They will soon release a product. Give them some slack. Apple not able to release a 'commodity" modem for years. And they are the A team? Mediatek, Samsung have all released good modems.
