Thread regarding 3M layoffs

3M Code of Conduct

I just read 3M’s policy on a respectful workplace again. I truly think if 3M followed and enforced the Code of Conduct this company would not be as toxic, employees would be happier and, possibly, 3M would have a better chance of survival. The most talented people I know left because of poor and toxic leadership.

Regional HR in MN won't resolve an ethical dispute so now it's forced to litigation. Why not just fire the problem and payout the dispute? Holy fk do your job? You're going to waste more money on legal costs than the dispute. This is why you have to cost cut because you waste money instead of doing your job in the first place.

3M is ripe for a Michael Moore type documentary.

3M provides a workplace where people live in a constant state of fear, toxicity and bullying. 8,500 job eliminations, hr that focuses on protecting the corporation at any cost, and leadership that lives in a perpetual state of denial. Look for a wonderful ethics day this month where leaders will proclaim 3M’s world class ethics. We’ll watch this empty theatre play out knowing it’s a lie.

3M did not pollute the world with PFAS, provided good earplugs to military personnel, did not bribe Chinese government officials, did not announce Vale as the new CEO, and is the most ethical company in the world. May we all bow down and kiss the ring of the ethics king, 3M.

The Kearney thing is a headscratcher. Even if there is a "firewall" where Tireboy isn't working on powerpoints telling Tireman to lay off 3M workers, there is still a conflict of interest in funneling millions to your son's employer for unnecessary "consulting" services. If Tireman really needs to hire consultants to do his job (which is another issue all together) then he should hire a firm other than Kearney. There are plenty of grifter consulting shops out there who will be happy to make powerpoint decks for Tireman.

Even Tireman hiring consultant where is son is working is firewall cleared. Speaks of 3M tolerance standards.

You can talk about ethics. You can make Powerpoint presentations. You can give courses. However, people understand that actions are the true indicator.

Nepotism with hiring, favoritism with advancement, greed of management, and incompetence of leadership. That's ultimately what destroyed this company. It deserves a netflix series in the end.
