Thread regarding VMware layoffs

GS

I hope that at Broadcom, those individuals in GS who haven't made meaningful contributions to the business for years and were promoted based on personal connections will be addressed. It's quite amusing that these individuals have suddenly started attending meetings after being relatively absent for an extended period. I've always been puzzled as to why VMware allowed this situation to persist.

Back in my day, we paired the whole day and gosh darn we liked it.

We ordered sushi for lunch for fake clubs because we were so hip and could not afford our own lunch, but hey, we were fighting for the cult… I mean the greater moral good.

Now let me pivot-splain you how all you know about software engineering and product development is wrong, but first let me bang a gong and clap hands.

Lord, the inmates are in fact running this part of the VMware asylum.

Sadly, their reality distortion field powers are strong and will seek out other companies only to ruin those, until they retire in 10 years.

Hack away Hock, keep it real.

Never understood the Tanzu bashing until now...

Yes the AEs and SEs talk like car salesmen, but there sales. Having sold Tanzu and speaking with bid to delivery, I was shocked! It's like its a different company, old days of Pivotal mentioned at least 10 days in the meeting, no we don't do that, that's not how we did it at pivotal, no we don't need to include core anymore, why did we sell that...

That area needs a shake up, it does not represent VMware. Still acting like a startup not an enterprise company. Truly shocked.

Truly, they're a complacent bunch of 'status quo' people that lack any imagination.

Can you get that into a PowerPoint for me by this afternoon so I can claim credit for the analysis?

I'm hopeful that the EUC Leadership Caste system that created this current group of hapless clowns will be dismantled by BC. Their apathy is responsible for so many lost opportunities to grow revenue and improve BU profitability.

Truly, they're a complacent bunch of 'status quo' people that lack any imagination.

Oh man. I hope the people hiring Pivotal crowd understand how f-up they are with very few exceptions. They can talk the talk they definitely cannot walk the walk. What a bunch of clowns

Buh-bye Pivotal!

And yet their ill gotten gains will be rewarded at the next job interview.

Amazing how VMware got infected with these parasites. Another example of total cr-p leadership on VMware’s part.

Every cent of Magoo’s CIC $50 million bonus should be donated to a worthy cause instead of the “bumbling id--t who wears Salvation Army clothing” and who asks the company to “focus on the main thing” as his pinnacle leadership quote.

Let that “main thing” comment sink in for a minutes.

Done?

That was only 10 seconds at best…

These words of wisdom insult us more that his $50 million for successfully tanking this company into private equity style he-l.

I’ll be gone, he’ll be gone, VMware will be gone.

Hock, have at them you ruthless fück.

As a shareholder, I'm glad Broadcom is coming in with the axe.

As a human being I’m glad sacks of shït who do no work at all, embarrassingly so, will be out of a job. They believe they can just jump to some other company and get millions in stock because they have such “vision” and “leadership” skills - not!

But ya know, the old boys network is still at work.

Just look at the hiring of our own Joshua Burgen.

Much insight, such leadership, many RSUs for a totally useless position .

Is this the world we really live in?

I've seen this in every corner of G&A as well. Many groups have a few workers carrying their whole team. Useless middle management getting endless RSUs and promotions based on nothing while passing along the biggest raises and bonuses to folks they like most (who also do zero work while delivering nothing).

As a shareholder, I'm glad Broadcom is coming in with the axe.

I feel the same about Tanzu. It's full of Pivotal people who still celebrate their Pivotal anniversaries on VMware Slack Channels. Buh-bye Pivotal! You unfairly got great projects, roles and salaries all because you knew each other. You never cared about excellence or quality, just yourselves.
