Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

How does current CEO compared to previous ones

I joined this company shortly after the CEO change. My team members who worked in QC for many years were comparing CEOs and most seemed to think the current CEO was okay until layoffs. How do you think he compares to the previous ones?

CA is more a product manager. Need a CEO with a deep technology vision and conviction. AP is running the company and it is unfortunately not working. Bench strength is non existent.

TBH the fault is with the core business model itself. SM wasn't a bad CEO but all his energy was spent fighting apple and FTC lawsuits due to the convulted patent licensing model. The company barely survived due to favorable turn of events plus 5G. However valuable time of close to half a decade when we should have been diversifying the business got spent on playing defense. During that tune the data center and AI revolution took off and competitors captured that market

None were trend setters and would have suffered the same fate. Nvidia got lucky when they accidentally found out that GPUs can be leveraged for training AI models. At least Intel and AMD have some hope of chipping away at Nvidia as they already have a competing product. Qualcomm has sadly missed the train entirely.

Paul, Steve, CA all are not good one. Sanjay is smart and his subordinator can't cheat like today.

Same skills but a different market. You are not asking the right question.
