It is about politics stupid. Do you think these laws write themselves. California politicians, and corrupt DAs put these laws in place. Stupid people voted for this and now can't figure out why all the businesses are leaving. So JFC I guess they have problem on their hands which they voted for. How much longer will other retailers stay in that city or others like it Portland, Austin, Philadelphia who knows you got what you voted for and chaoshas come for you!!

If Jeff Gannett would have kept his personal political views out of the business, Macy's would be in a much better place right now.

If someone is shoplifting they should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. PERIOD!

At least your store has AP. You would think that with all of the crazy video's showing flash mob shoplifting that there wouldn't be a store in the country that didn't have AP in it. Our store hasn't had AP since 2019 and we all just sit back and watch the same neighborhood thieves come in every day and load up and walk out. We stopped asking them if they need help, they know the game and realize we can't do anything. You wanna understand why we spend the day on our phone, even the company doesn't care about our store, why should we?

Now with registers being upgraded in just about every location, what are your thoughts out there if NCR will continue to support Tech in the stores going into next year. The 5 year service contract is set to end early 2024. Not sure what Macys will do going forward and how that will impact issues that happen in the store with Tech on top of all of the other problems. Does not look good at least in the near future unless Tony has a plan to address when he assumes control.

The real trouble is AP focuses more on internal "thefts" than external... they go after the cashiers accidentally using coupons, adjusting prices for mispriced signs, yadda yadda yadda. Remember, AP uses the same metrics as sales. If they don't produce, they will be in the shi tter and could be on the chopping block like everyone else. Easier to go for the easy prey than the physical grab and go thievery. Macy's motto is to Beat Last Year... Or to be the better than the other stores in your district/region.

And to think... they did away with Thanks for Sharing to advertise heavily in Macy's Credit. Agreed, we earned alot of new card members who joined from Bronze, but were they quality members who could pay off their debts? I think Thanks for Sharing was out bread an butter....

Is anyone surprised they are closing a store in Los Angeles. They are being shoplifted out of business. Once a Society accepts the unacceptable it must deal with the aftermath. This company's wokeness is rotting it from the inside out. They gave BLM 10 million dollars so they could feel better about themselves and the leaders of that organization soon to be bankrupt, spent it on luxury vacations, homes in nice areas and enriched themselves and their families. We can't fight shoplifters in our store because we might offend someone so let walk out with thousands of dollars of merchandise. Now they are worried about people not being able to pay their credit cards, but keep pushing opening charges. This company is dying a slow self inflicted death.
