Thread regarding Adidas layoffs

Too little, too late

I left nearly 2 years ago and haven't looked back since. The company I joined in 2015 wasn't anywhere near the one I left in 2021. The new HR leadership is a joke with jobs for the boys continuing to happen despite the expectation of open and transparent recruiting processes for every other function. The leadership shake up was well needed but way too late. The supervisory board were happy to let culture suffer when the numbers and dividends were good, but happy to turn on KR when that dried up. I fully expect BG to make another raft of leadership changes later in the year with hopefully MS and AR next to be shown the door at the board level. I was so adamant I'd return to adidas one day... after seeing how they treat the business and people from the outside, there is ZERO chance of me ever going back.

Well said, @jtpw+1lL12GpZ.

To the 10+ year employee hoping for a release package: You’re not the layoff target. New hires of the same seniority level probably have a higher salary and they definitely receive a smaller severance, so it makes financial sense to start with them.

Echoing the above - been an employee for 10+ years but I'm praying for a layoff and severance. NAM leadership is nonexistent with some top talent gone in the last 2-4 years (Tech, DNA, Biz Dev, the list goes on) backfilled with uninspiring su-k-ups installed because they are yes-men to HZO. NAM HR is the most toxic of all (not surprising if you've worked with them even a little). To say nothing of the mess in HQ - showing KR the door when he didn't deserve it. Or what about keeping MS around - his racism, misogyny, and personal vendettas are well-known yet HR continues to protect him while he erodes the adidas culture and brand.

I've been hoping things will turn around back to the good old days (before 2015 or so) but those are long gone. Can't wait to leave this sad mess.
