Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

Walgreens lay-off Thursday august 24th

Walgreens laid off thousands last Thursday in the field. Directors, district managers, beauty managers in every state. Everyone but the the CEO who is responsible for the mess they are in. Good people who were with the company their entire lives.

It wasn’t thousands of people.

With 73% of the stock, Pessina owns the company. Anyone he hires at the top is merely a puppet. This is a controlled demolition.

I believe the "healthcare initiatives" are simply a story designed to keep up appearances while the wrecking ball cashes out the company piece by piece.

Most were overpaid do nothings, that were puppets. Should have cut even more. By the way what do those so called DPR's do all day and all week besides sit in meetings and check a store now and then and not even talking to store workers like they are above them all.. Talk about overpaid. We see what you did and what has happened to walgreens on your watch and you are shocked with your results?

Why would anyone with pride and character stay working with this walgreens company. Have you no shame. The CEO is not a leader, actually a disgrace, stock at $25 now. You can make more at mcdonalds working there than walgreens. It's quite sad, but you get what you pay for/hire. The worst. I hope some of you wake up.

Walgreens used to care for their employees but that stopped between 8-12 years ago when the landscape of pharmacy changed and retail changed and then they let Pessina run n this company into the ground long before the current CEO came along but most likely she was hired to do the dirty work for him

Not surprising. I never considered Walgreens a company that cares the least bit for its employees. It's more about wringing every ounce of production out its team members and then throwing them out when they're no longer needed. Par for the course.
