Just confirmed that we have new layoffs coming next week. Between 35 and 40 per cent of us in the US organization. The first domino falls next week. I'm really sick of this place and the decisions leadership make which we have to live with.

This is such BS. I guess we will see soon enough if OP is lying.......
Can Nielsen survive a 40% layoff? This would have to include parts of the business closing or being sold.
Layoffs and restructuring are normal for any business, what seems to be the biggest issue here is the messaging style used by leadership.
They've already started outsourcing PRS jobs to contract workers in Mexico. Rather than hitting new PRSes, they're bringing in ringers that cost the company less.
“ Between 35 and 40 per cent of us in the US organization.”
In specific organization could be, in general it seems really too much.
didn’t seem to stop them last time. unless every impacted individual lawyers up and fights back, nothing will happen.
january post about WARN violation: https://www.thelayoff.com/t/1kFSPpEo
if it was really that many wouldn't that trigger the WARN act? though this is the second person who has said layoffs start next week

It shouldn't be too hard. They've shut the ROCs down before. And other than severance packages, why wouldn't they chop the seniors? They're the closes to retirement, making the most money. They'll push all of that phone work onto the FRs. They'll fire the majority of the MR team and insist the new FRs do it.
Any mention of spinning off part of what is left at Nielsen? Audio, Gracenote, Field ? That could amount to the 35-40%.
The information on this site has been accurate, right down to DKs letter announcing the first layoffs. That was posted several days before his Tuesday email. Clearly someone in his inner circle does not agree with his leadership style!
Don’t know where you got this info but it’s probably false. 30-40 percent??? Yes highly unlikely, the misinformation shared here is crazy.
It must be 35 - 45% of the layoffs are going to be in the US. Right?
35-40%?!?! Are you serious? That seems like an ungodly number. An unrealistic number.
What I would like to know is how are they deciding who goes and who stays. Are the decisions based on Performance? Pay based? Are they just going to clear out people who have been here 20+ years?
Are they shutting down the ROCs?
Are they going to merge the national back together with the locals?
What about the WARN notice?
