Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

Global sales leader at Spot resigned after one year

Feel she did not contribute much in this 12 months besides bringing in two excolleagues … what are your thoughts on Spot/Instaclustr future?

George promised his brother that NetApp would concentrate on Cloud garbage to help a struggling Google Cloud.

Who cares about the lowly NTAP employees and their livelihoods?

Must... help... twin... brother!

Oh there is quite a clever reason to pay for spot.

  1. Spend money on spot
  2. Grow infrastructure spending over the years
  3. Cancel spending on spot

Bo-m! You have just saved your company money. Ask for bonus.

What is spot and why would anyone spend money on it?

Haha Shocker! She was a waste of time just like the entire Spot Sales and Mgt Team. Most untalented sales team of hacks that I have ever worked for. Good luck on getting out alive!

I don't see how 'public cloud' can fit in with what netapp cares about: storage. They seem very focused on hybrid, which makes a lot more sense. This 'misfit', combined with a lack of any real revenue growth in the area, makes me highly skeptical that netapp are "all in" on Spot/Instaclustr.
