If a ex googler, leaves and wants to come back, will google hire them without interview?

To be clear, this is S under GRAD. Under the old perf system, CME was enough (you didn't need to get S under old perf to reapply without interviewing).
It is largely academic now, except if your last rating was an S under old perf it won't matter because that's more than a year old
All that @3ayo noted below is correct...
You have 12 months to come back and you had to have an S...
You can randomly send an email to HR and they will respond with a paragraph explaining details.
depends... if the diretor laid you off and said to other team members the reason of your layoff was because you were doing your job and trying to fix the eng. issues then the answer is No! If you were a mediocre professional that played the political game, made your nose brown and did not have any idea what you were doing, then the answer is Yes!
if you got an S on your last performance review they ask Moses to come back and part the sea
generally they lay down a red carpet in anticipation of you returning. They then send a entourage to greet you at the door with a basket of fruits. In some cases they give the entire company the day off.
As usual, many of the anonymous comments are wrong.
If you return within 12 months, to the same ladder and level, and if you got an S on your last performance review, you can go through the hiring process without an interview.
No
