Thread regarding VMware layoffs

What’s the % of lay offs? 15%? 50% or 70%

Please comment if you knew well.

ALL roles across the company will be drastically reduced, apx 70% or more in some cases. The exception will be Engineering. This includes transition roles which be up to 12 months.

80% of Sr. Director and above will be let go. They do no work and any decisions they have made have proven to be incorrect.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

When you are selling crack, you don’t need presales. We will find out soon enough who is addicted to VMware.

pre-sales engineering and field sales should be good until the 3rd or 4th layoff as they will have all the account knowledge at that point. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Maths would indicate a 60% reduction if the are to meet their EBITDA guidance.

1st round is HR, Legal, Ops, Marketing, some IT.. probably 15%.

But there will be multiple rounds ongoing as BC restructured to their desired goals.

Better to get cut and take your package now than be subject to a year of musical chairs.
