Anyone knows what's going to happen with Carbon Black?

A poor purchase by VMWARE on the basis that we would create an intrinsic security motion. Reality is we didn’t! Now we have an acquisition that is not worth the money we put into it! We are bleeding money on an underperforming BU.
That's an interesting perspective. VMW forced out security leadership, replaced them with their own who were needy for promotions with no security experience, and spent months on code quality instead of actually stopping threats. Treated it as just yet another product. Then wondered why customers were dropping it. "Sorry, we didn't invest in stopping new threats, but we did reduce memory consumption by 10%!"
Will be spun off.
Best guess sold off, not a priority for BC. If you look at our top acts few use CB.
that we would create an intrinsic security motion
Another example of VMware acquisition style. Aquire, do nothing, and think it will make a difference because now your slideware isn’t 110% bullsh-t, just 90%.
It’s been this way with
EVERY
SINGLE
ACQUISITION
Don't worry, uncle Hock will sort it all out ;)

Are they profitable? Profitable enough for hock’s standards? If so they stay, if they can’t meet his goals, then off with their head, sold to the highest bidder.
It’s the tale of the financial tape.
When you want to know what is the main thing to focus on at Broadcom, that is it. Not the vagaries of an old bumbling fool and his HR DEI focused counterpart.
