All he could really come up with was a speech about being more efficient. This is going to be an absolute nightmare. Man has absolutely zero knowledge or care of the corporate culture of UP.

I am a white employee, a younger black employee always greets me saying , how ya doing boss man . I was surprised first time it happened. I’m used to it now , I don’t mind about it,not offended at all. We are nice to each other.

Looks like we are going to be getting those propagandist DEI emails again. OMG! An employee used the term slave driver in a non racial way! That is so racist...let's conduct an exhaustive investigation with a forgone conclusion and can that guy!

Racially segregated employee groups are not truly unifying or progressive. Company should be sued for demanding 40 percent non Caucasians by a certain date. Insane and unconstitutional...

He can’t it part of vanguard’s agenda look it up he has to be part of B.E.N you think he really want to do that. Yea he would love to get rid of it. If it was up to him he would just get rid of all the employees.

Only the UP would be arrogant enough to send little Jim to the BEN conference. How many jobs has he cut people out of which creates less opportunity for everyone? Little Jim should have been boo'd and removed from the conference by all attendees. It was a photo-op for all of the "leadership" to grandstand while using the BEN members as props. They do not care about anyone; their actions speak louder than their empty words. To fire people left and right and then show up pretending they value employees takes a special kind of narcissist. It will be interesting to see how many of the attendees in the pictures will still be employed at UP next year.

Efficiency? We cant even do the first tasks of each day efficiently! I have to get to work half an hour early then log into TEAMS 5 or 6 times until it will come up. Then we have to enter the next days payrolls hours assuming there will be no OT. When there is OT (which is every other day) we then have to go back delete it and reenter it. This prevalent thought process from management of “we’re paying you just do it” how is that efficient? Do it the wrong way, then do it again later?

Vena at the BEN conference, thats rich. Research Vena and his handling of racial harassment against Solomon Perry at the IC-CN. Our BEN members should have escorted him out of the conference.

From an article on seeking Alpha about how bad UP has been run……. share repurchases essentially benefit only shareholders of the stock, i.e. Wall Street. This form of using capital does not benefit customers, it does not benefit employees unless they own the stock, and it also doesn’t benefit the rail network. A better way to grow a company is to build organic growth in the business, using capital in strategic places that will benefit customers and the network. There have been times in the past few years that Union Pacific has turned away business because it did not have the employees or equipment in order to serve these customers.

It's too bad he didn't mention how the last PSR run did NOTHING for efficiency, or that it turned the UP into a three or four time champion of worst employer. That's right Vena, YOUR PSR DID THAT!!!
