If the carrier agrees to something without concessions then it’s probably not good. Less Carmen IMO.

I hope Carmen are smart enough to vote against this. This is not in your favor. BNSF is using this as an analysis study, to find where the most productivity is coming from what shift and to cut overtime. Once the study is done furloughs will follow. Followed by forced overtime for the new bottom roster. This only benefits senior guys. Which might prolong retirement of top seniority guys. Now say it doesn't work in BN's favor, they can just take it away. So why let them sc--w you over to begin with?
Carrier just asked for our help 2 weeks ago because of injuries. We aren't in there thoughts 1 bit. They absolutely don't care about safety, it's why we are all doing more with less help already. That's why the injuries went up to start with. They cut the overtime to damn near nothing, and they aren't filling open positions. There bottom line is all they care about and always will. All we can do is our job, and do it to the book because if anyone has been following UP they started furloughing. BNSF history wise generally follows suit and always has.
The agreements are in place & signed. Will be hard for big shops to do so because everyone would need to be on board or it doesn't happen. Carrier could view it as a way to not have us all around as well which is a fear. If that were to "happen" it goes right back to 8 hour work shifts. Small points it could possibly work, but keep in mind what you may be giving up just for another rest day.
Carmen have a hard enough time “working” 8 hours as it is. Burden on the railroads pocketbook!
