Macy's in-store shopping is down 25%, and they did not meet their Q2 goals.
Not only is this bad, but they are down 50% for online shopping, down 25 million, and 8,875 percent than expected for Q2. The prediction is a rapid decline, and it will be accelerated with potential new lockdowns. no new jobs or help in store. useless store managers and completely useless district teams and "small store strategy" and decline of malls, most malls are now being turned into mixed-use locations.
Your current "team" is exhausted , fed up, underpaid vs workload and treated like a criminal from AP , managers and corporate. if there is time to bail do it before thanksgiving or xmas..

On a good note, I believe thefts will go down significantly with On 34th merchandise coming in.
So glad I don’t work there anymore. Macy’s overworks and severely underpays it’s mid-level managers. There is life beyond Macy’s, for all those out there afraid to make the jump and leave. It’s only going to get worse. The way stores are being run is not sustainable.
Stress levels have never been higher with our DVP going crazy over every day credit and survey performance. There must be a lot of stuff going on and seems like everyone is afraid for their jobs at the higher levels. Like the previous poster noted, below the store manager level, other leaders and colleagues no longer seem to care with call-outs and people standing around on their phone when they do decide to show up. So much merchandise coming into the store and getting almost a truck a day and no place to to put the stuff. Not looking good for the holiday season.
Current long term employee here.
The merchandise is boring and stores always messy and we never have a chance to recover from day to day. Rails and rails of putbacks and fitting rooms left with twenty pieces on the floor. Those colleagues who do try are getting discouraged. My manager is ready to quit, no support and most of them are working almost every day.
No consequences for people who don't work their schedules or who are always stand around with their faces in their phones when no one's looking. Plus we allow people to dictate what schedules they will work and you can bet that means few weekends when we really need help.
No incentive to make sales or credit because those who DON'T also have no consequences, so why bother?
We take back merchandise worn and dirty because we don't want someone to complain or give us a zero on a survey.
I'm going to hold out one more Christmas but then I'm going to find something else to do.
Sad, sad days for Macy's
In the past year, Macy’s stock is down 36%. There’s a financial crash coming. Don’t believe me? Go look for yourself. Also, the new Covid variant is spreading like wildfire. For those that don’t believe mask mandates and lockdowns are coming, I’m happy you’re living in la la land. The rest of us see what’s happening.
Lockdowns? What are you watching
this site is full of pi---d off current and former staff just making things worse than they actually are.
How did you get from the actual number of 8% down to 25% down?
In fact, most of your numbers are exaggerated, though I assume that's probably intentional.
Blaming consumer debt is trash. The quality of goods Macys carries now is awful. Not to mention the price. Eg. they went hard in on City Chic. City Chic has their own website and you can get all the stuff 50% lower on their site. Used to be the go to store because the quality was wonderful. I never shop there now.
