Thread regarding Dick's Sporting Goods Inc. layoffs

Mr. Stack rolls in his grave seeing how unscrupulous his son is.

Just saying. This is not good for anyone except him...

Di-ks will indeed have another round of layoffs TY before it’s all over. I know this for a fact and should not be saying anything since I have privilege on upper mgmt conversations, I.e sitting in on the discussions. Next round will hit private brand hardlines area. Soft lines is ok but hardlines looses money with associates. The out lay in salary is heavy and no return. We have several divisionals that must be let go along with entire design team. It’s sad that we must do this but private label in hardlines has not performed it’s a money drain. There you have it from a reliable source within mgmt. Just need to prepare the troops hopefully it gets into the correct hands.

Next two quarters will be interesting. We still have firearms stores we're pulling g-ns from. Wait for sh-t to hit the fan and rekindle that fire.

Have some friends in the patagonia world too. Can't wait to see what holidays look like so I can send photos on how we truly take care of their products. Hope this place tanks after seeing how they treat people.

Good people were and will be let go in the near future. The company says they’re family first, what a lie.

Ed likes tell all these feel good stories about his dad and how the company grew but it still wants everyone to feel like a small family business.

It’s all bullsh-t. He’s full of sh-t.

If you made it through the latest round of layoffs. Hang tight, the days are ticking towards the next one. 3 year pattern.

It’s actually an additional $25-$50 mil charge that’s anticipated to come this year.

The next 2 quarters will be interesting to see if DSG had a blip or if their 3 years of riding high have come to a crashing halt. Signs are pointing towards the later. Probably why they have another $20-25M loaded up for more severances.
