I work in a position where I have access to a decent amount of bank-end data, with some of that data being GPS. I personally do not perform any 'monitoring' of this data, but I could see how this could very easily happen. Currently I know UP stores GPS related to all locomotives (kinda duh with PTC), company vehicles with telematics, and potentially company issued devices with GPS capabilities. There is also a potential that if you byod they could be storing that GPS information as well.
I do not know if any sort of monitoring is happening with this data, but it is there and could easily happen if someone wanted to. Also, this data is collected whenever a device/vehicle is active, regardless of whether you are on shift or off.
Be careful out there, and be mindful on whether or not you might be giving UP information you would rather not. Stay safe.
