The company knows they brought in a person who is ki-ling morale faster than he is ki-ling jobs. Someone thinks its clever and will reduce angst for us to get to know Jim through these Fast Facts. Everyone cares about Jim as much as he cares about everyone; not at all.
The man is stomping all over people with his size 7 shoe and they think for us to know more about the guy's background will make it feel better.
He's also human debris.

In my opinion, this is just UP executives setting themselves up for ridiculous bonuses at the end of the year. Just think of how much money they'll save by not having to pay all of the employees whose jobs they cut.

It wasn't just machinists, it was a mixed bag with electricians and laborers, 17 in total walked off the property.
I think 8 machinists. All new hires.
Heard commerce/Dolores already got touched. Machinists laid off already.
