Of course the locals wouldn't throw rocks - They'd pay someone else to do it because they cant be bothered to be torn away from idling. That's the accepted duality of locals and expats in the work place environment.

I keep reading it's not the same place it once was. Best brains have gone, poor replacements and Saudisation kicking in. An Awful place to work, live and survive. Focus on leaving at the earliest point and do so cleanly.

Just keep cruising. Do enough to get by. When I was there I had it down to 50% working and 50% doing my own stuff. There’s advantages to cubicles. The fools won’t notice. Ping a slide deck or two to your pleb supervisor. Disconnect emotionally. There no reasoning with these fools and no reason for you to try. As others said, plan an exit by all means but don’t react to their garbage.

You are forgetting you are in a racist culture, a Saudi can say black is white and they will be believed over a foreign inf1del. You just can’t win in this corrupt environment. This is not the west.

Your options are to keep quiet or leave on a timescale that you control. By all means slow down and spend more time on “errands”.

Seriously, don't resign unless/until you are ready. If management had something on you that warranted immediate dismissal, you would have been escorted out of the building already. Just cue up your job search back home and schedule leave time for interviews.

Sorry for you. And totally understand that you made a counter claim. But… there is no fairness. Only lies and deception to suit whatever warped narrative that some local is peddling to make himself look like ‘the man.’ Your best bet is to keep your head down and accept whatever comes your way if you want to stay or just GTFO.

A director accused me of talking or harassing a local lady and to my surprised i was summoned right after my repat.
The lady in question never complained. I barely remember talking to her ,it was just a minor comment about the weather + small talk. That director just passed by, saw us talking that day, and went complain to my director. I was told that this would hurt me and that i should keep my discretion.
Last thing i knew the lady was moved offices. I was given an M not that i give a sh**. 12 years in this horrid place.

It is only natural to counter slander and lies to your character if you care for your work.

Odds are no one wants you gone enough to actually do the paperwork required and get people to sign off on said paperwork. Probably just want you to resign to save them the hassle. Just show up to work and make some pretty PowerPoint presentations, which will make you extremely valuable and get the last laugh.

They can make anything up and write it ‘in your file’
There is no transparency.
Most dishonest and unfair environment. No one to turn to. HR should represent and protect the company but in your case due to the level of nepotism, tribalism and corruption you are on your own. You will be the sacrificial lamb to put an end to the fabricated situation. Your toxic manager will shine. Most likely this has all started from an insecure colleague.
I have spent a fair bit of time in the kingdom to understand the locals. They are a very selfish bunch and don’t give a care for you or your family.
The expats are a little better. But it’s toxic all round.

One individual I know died from burnout. He worked all hours to deliver an ongoing 5 year project. He left the company but died a few months later. He was young (early thirty’s) Guess what, the manager refused to donate not even 1 SAR towards flowers or a condolences card. 5 years to make the manager a star and this is how it ended.

Modern day slavery. No morals.

Nothing is surprisinganymore at Aramco. Sad they treat employees this way. This company is doomed to fail sooner or later.
