We need to do something to improve our corporate culture. Managers especially lack a number of skills (people and technical) and have some kind of "hype" and also fear that they can lose their jobs if they hire somebody who has strong skills. How can we get hiring process better and improve our corporate culture?

I know a guy in Quality...offering presents, meals, and so many other things to the person who keeps him around...I do not give 2c on his memberships, licenses, etc...he cannot write/speak properly...Time to retire?!
People moved around, in between offices, ahead of time, for temp protection against layoffs, etc...
I am still "investigating"...looks like the whole story of pushing and keeping people around is somehow connected with a Church (with Calgary, Alberta, and British Columbia connections)...hmmm...
Truer words have never been spoken: "Over the last 5 years or so the company has severanced and bought out many of the best employees and kept or promoted corporate vultures and chronic know-nothings. "

Excited excitement and exciting are words found in each and every communication. This culture thing is non existent.
This may be a revolutionary new concept but maybe management should be selected on the basis of their ability to lead and motivate others, experience level, competency, and being kind and respectful to others.
I know, I know, it’s a crazy concept but it just might work.
Fire the poor tone from the top.
How Poirier and Hunter are still around is beyond me.
