Thread regarding Phillips 66 layoffs

American Based Company?

Why do we have to listen to so many UK accents telling Americans how to run our business? One only has to look at Britain’s GDP to understand why this may not be the best idea… oh but wait, isn’t Black Rock European based, and don’t they control a major portion of the PSX stock? That makes sense…

Sounds exactly the same as when Yanks come over to the UK. Only interested in using it as a stepping stone to their next job. The mess they leave behind is someone else’s problem.

They're just like Americans, some are excellent, some are cr-p. Just frustrating since you know they're only ever around for the short haul before they get shipped back to Humber, so they seem more short term focused than long range.

I agree with the prior response (Post ID @shj+1oaRFHfi).

Working for a global business means getting to work with great talent from many countries, and to learn about different cultures.

That is one of the aspects I have enjoyed most at Phillips 66. Some of my favorite managers and colleagues came from Britain, Ireland, Norway, Trinidad and Tobago, just to name a few.

This is a global business, with many employees from many nations. If you have a disagreement with the direction of the company, express that instead of these xenophobic observations that have no relevance to the company's performance.
