This turns out to true after all...it's been confirmed now in another thread...not baseless speculation after all.
They hated him because he spoke the truth
There's a Friday the 13th this month, but their next reduction targets will probably be notified on the 17th or 18th. This is speculation based on past October surprises.
“However, of the people I knew at SAS over the years, who are now no longer at SAS, October was the month they were involuntarily separated.”
October 2021 is the month I was semi-voluntarily separated from SAS. I interpreted the VRBP as more of a strong suggestion than as simply an opportunity.
Would these October “surprises” be associated with healthcare insurance enrollment?
Get real. Half the posts decry SAS not taking this action or that action. SAS does something and people decry that. Most companies are f* up. Things aren't halcyon at SAS but they aren't in the toilet either. Work hard, make connections, learn forward thinking skills, take care of yourself. Simple. Get real.
Baseless speculation, yes.
However, of the people I knew at SAS over the years, who are now no longer at SAS, October was the month they were involuntarily separated. Maybe that's just for R&D, maybe it's company wide. But that non-scientific sample is what leads me to conclude that October is a frightful month at SAS.
I'm aware that a few testing managers were laid off this Wednesday, probably fewer than 10 total.
Epic and SAS are handling layoffs quite differently. Epic has chosen a more transparent and decisive approach, whereas SAS seems to be taking a more gradual and, at times, seemingly underhanded approach.
In my opinion, the Epic approach appears to be more favorable for morale compared to the SAS approach. Reflecting on past events posted on this board, it seems these actions tend to occur on Wednesdays or Thursdays. If I were still at SAS, I would be filled with anxiety about those days by now, wondering if it would be my turn this week or someone else's.
Nothing good will happen by worrying about it. So, let it go. Hope for the best and plan for the worst. Easier said than done. Best wishes for those still there!
Here we go again - baseless speculation.
I’m sure the poster is just a troll.
Tell me more!
Don't just drop that here with no details. WTF.
Sounds like BS to me.
Very ominous, Anonymous. Please elaborate further.
