Texas has lots of semiconductor talent and everything is MUCH MUCH cheaper and larger in Texas. It just makes sense to move HQ to Texas while keeping a minimal presence in SD.

execs need their year round golf and status collector minions around them. not gonna happen. it's all SD or straight QIPL for low cost.
Talents are in California. You got what you paid for in Texas.
Yee haw
Obviously You have never lived in a shithole state like North Carolina or Texas.
That will strip qualcomm of talent like nothing else.
Shut up.
Its not talent its not productivity. Its about cheap… should move Akash along with his goonies to india first
Doesn't Texas have problems with its electricity grid? Not the sort of place you want to base a technology company!
It's also not a family friendly place because of the g-n violence and Right-wing extremists.
Phoenix makes more sense. TSMC fab up and running and there's already a large contingent of hardware/software engineers here due to Intel, Microchip, and the remnants of Motorola. Closer to SD than Austin.
@dgg You are so racist. Where is that guy who likes to call everyone racist? We need him / her / them !
Texas. Ewww! People will stink even more in the hot and humid Texas weather.
india is already >50%
Soon it will be 60-70%
Cant wait for trump to come back. He supposedly rescued an "american" company.

Newsflash:
Texas is not cheap anymore.
There are already 16000 in India last year. Very soon India will have more employees than US.
India is much cheaper and with better education systems that produce more skilled engineers.
Dallas is a good option, and TI is also there.
It is not easy to move thousands of people and the savings are not that much. Austin is quite crowded already. Additionally, people high up have enough money and likely prefer to stay where they are.
The Place To be For Tikka C.
Yes India is cheap, but does India have talent?!
If a cost and human resource matter, India seems to be a better answer?
