Received severance agreement. It says not to sign it prior to separation date. My last working day was September and my termination date is 3rd week October. Does this mean I shouldn’t sign/return until my separation date?

Why are you asking? It says not to sign prior termination date. It is not hard to understand.
You can sign whenever you want, but date it 10/22/2023 or later and don’t send it back until that date or later
