They all but announce reorgs in product development and sales and all anyone can talk about is Slack going away. Great job by the corporate comms team structuring that one!

"The word here is we are the top money producer in the company so we are safe. Good luck to everyone else"
Oh boy, if I had a nickle for every time a Cengager has fallen for that one in the last decade, I'd have Hansen's bank account. The axe falls inevitably and one thinks, "but ... we were producing profit, that's what they said!"
Take it from one who has lived it, all air pockets are eventually flooded as the ship succumbs.
I always hated Slack. In reality it was just another thing to check and a way for Cengage to pretend it was a tech company.
Take that money and hire IPS to come in and roast MH.
@2grq+1oWuGdPN If I could impart one piece of wisdom. Companies NEVER care about employees. The sooner you understand this, the better.
The whole plan cooked up by these desperados su-ks! The fact they’re taking away slack and zoom indicates they couldn’t give a rats a-s about the employees. $600k? Big deal! They spend more than that on their swanky meetings. Stupid. Some of us have watched the same shenanigans over and over and over again, year after year. New suits old tricks.
@oyw+1oWuGdPN They can’t outsource it to India but they can move it to Inside. They’re WAY cheaper than the field
@1tfk+1oWuGdPN Being the top money producer just means you will be the prized pig when Apax decides to chop up the company and sell it in pieces.
Yesterday was just another day in the office in Kentucky. I feel sorry for the Boston Office when they close it, finally. The word here is we are the top money producer in the company so we are safe. Good luck to everyone else.
Once the announcement was made that they were cutting Zoom and Slack, everything went off the rails. No idea what the meeting was supposed to be about.
I missed the call. What did they say about a product development reorg?
They are coming for sales with a machete. It’s the only place to really cut. You can’t outsource it to India or replace it with AI.
If they want to save money, stop holding these ridiculously expensive ES’s…
It just shows how little they think about the effect. Lots of talk about "intent" but no thought to how this will impact everyone.
If they want to save money, shut down the Boston office and take the peanalty hit.
