The D.O.E. may also want to take a much -much -much closer look at various areas of this operation?
Always, always best to chat with an employment lawyer all the same (signed or unsigned, still employed-ect).
Let the lawyers help in knowing what type of treatment and/or activities that have taken place and what your rights are. Some actions may supersede...

Ah. I did sign an agreement, but I was in Utah and it did mean I couldn’t collect unemployment. But hey - it was Utah so…
Severance and the ability to collect unemployment depends on which state you live in and the terms of your severance agreement. In the case of the 2U severance you were required to waive your right to make any claims against the company. In MA, this leaves you eligible to collect unemployment insurance even while getting severance payments. If the severance agreement did not make you sign away any claims, then you would not be eligible for unemployment until your severance runs out.
@btw+1oWT00VZ I’m not privy to the details of these packages, but usually companies pay out a severance in one lump sum vs as continued salary. This does NOT preclude one from getting unemployment.
An organization that rammed their hundreds and hundreds of employees to dust, by working them so hard with so little reaping of the profit$?!
I'd say, yeah...that organization "is required to provide severance if you work in an at will state."

Is an organization even required to provide severance if you work in an at-will state?
Also, keep in mind that if you get severance, you can't get unemployment right away. I learned this the hard way a while back at a different company.
In all fairness, 2 weeks for every year worked is considered very generous. Plus 3 week notice pay.
