Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Hey Soroban! How's your profits?

You brought Vena back as the CEO, and the stock price has done exactly what many said it would do. You bragged about him being the best candidate for CEO because of his stellar track record and railroading experience. BS! You brought him back as a way to make a quick profit from his experience with the job ki-ling PSR scheme. That plan only worked the first time because we the employees didn't know what it was. Now we know how the game is played. So how's your profits now that you brought on the proclaimed best candidate for CEO with his stellar track record and railroading experience?

Kenny sent out a note talking about next year remaining flat with little growth. He called out that if we can’t get price and growth we’ll have to focus our attention to reducing productivity aka people/headcount. Why would people stay in M&S knowing that the market won’t improve, we are going to charge more for the same subpar service. We spent all of 2023 talking about hiring crews. Who wants to work here in the field. No life/job balance, hard work and the common talk of layoffs. you can make nearly the same at most new companies and be home regularly. The rumor is still 10% headcount reductions before earnings or after earnings.

No the company can do very well if they get rid of PSR. The management team was just a catalyst to get PSR going. The UP had management before PSR was started, and the company was doing good but not great. The company is a cesspool now. Vena can resort to whatever he wants to jack up the stock price all he wants. The stock price is already on its way down. The cuts made the first time brought the stock price up. The cuts aren't bringing the stock price up this time. So if Vena wants the stock price to go up, then he might have to resort to actual common sense and hire people to show the market that the UP has a strong workforce. Soroban got themselves backed into a corner with Vena this time. I wonder what the other investors are thinking about Soroban right. Soroban is the one that wanted him in there, and they're not even the largest investor.

This company made it obviously clear that they ONLY care about 1 thing…stock price….when they brought Satan Vena back. They can literally stop saying “Courage to Care” and “We Are One” and all the Hjalmar stuff….just stop, you really don’t mean it so stop already. My concern is Vena will resort to extreme measures to get the stock price up since it’s not doing it on his name alone.
