They laid off news 12? When?
I just ran across a story on the News 12 lay offs and the person being quoted said they were told they would be paid through the end of the month and then they could go on unemployment. Someone in an earlier comment said there would be no more big severance packages and it looks like that may be the case.
News 12 was a brilliant creation that kept customers with Optimum. Allowing News 12 to be viewed by FiOS customers was a silly, short sighted deal. Now customers can leave Optimum when service is bad and rates are high, and still get News 12. News 12 and most other local news businesses don't make money. It exists for the great good of the company. Spectrum News is not making any money, but their customers love it and won't leave Spectrum because of it. "The Cablevision Way". Spectrum is the best run cable company in the US...and their key to success was they copied The Cablevision Way. You know else could have been successful in US cable? The Altice people that bought Cablevision! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

We have seen the last of the “big”severance packages from an Altice owned company. Any future layoff’s in the Altice world will come with a token severance unless you in an Sr. executive position. Over the last 8 years this company has paid out out millions of dollars to get people to leave. Paid out millions in order to loose hundreds or even thousands in combined years of talent. Now that takes a brilliant business mind to do that.
Little to no severance either 🙄
