Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Do cuts happen before or after the acquisition is finalized?

I'm wondering if employees would be eligible for VMware or Broadcom severance.

This isn't totally clear. Betsy said those receiving severance packages will still be on payroll as of Nov 1. Her tone indicated that the actual layoff date would be some date past that, whether that is first week of Nov, or a WARN notice period of 60 days which puts us out to end Dec, or something else - nobody really knows at all.

Offers will start from Oct 16 but some have happened already. If you’re getting laid off you simply won’t get an offer and you’ll be notified after the close nov 1

Nah, not even going to answer. No one should feed you obvious information on a silver platter. The answer exists within official channels and has been asked repeatedly. Put some basic effort in first to look for yourself.
