I see more and more LI posts with Citrix channel partners running webinars with other tech companies saying Citrix VDI is dead, go with Azure or, worse, VDI is dead, go with Zscaler, Palo Alto etc. Citrix partners doing this! What the f is going on? Sleeping at the wheel, top leadership?

Don’t worry, they’ve got some nifty accounting tricks to make the revenue look great. Wait for the all hands. Get your bonus this year then get laid off for the double payout. That’s my plan.
Heck, I think they're losing even commercial and midmarket renewals and net new VDI/DaaS deals if not to Microsoft/AWS, to enterprise browser/SASE as last poster mentioned, or even to some of the newer and more modern cloud native DaaS providers that are a MUCH easier technical entry point (Cameyo, Workspot, etc.)
Watch the space... VDI/DaaS is in reality now only Microsoft. They are like those Burmese Pythons in Florida- suffocating Citrix and are about to cut off the oxygen!
In reality, Citrix is an aftermarket accessory that will soon completely die away. And VDI itself is going away with SASE and secure browsers. Customers can want to rip it out. The PE missed the mark on this one, or they think the other assets like Wrike and Sharefile (maybe) and Netscaler (really?) will make up for the fall into oblivion
I strongly believe Citrix will be compared to as what is mainframe computing today. Sure there's newer technology but it's made easy, consumable, and doesn't require too much hard work.
Citrix is legacy.
We're a reseller partner and a lot of our Citrix customers today are looking at options for downsizing their Citrix footprint and licensing or gradually sunsetting Citrix altogether as their legacy applications are modernized and they move towards SASE/Zero Trust framework. We get a LOT of complaints about Citrix support unfortunately too - which has honestly been an issue well before CSG took over. Microsoft (and Nerdio) are eating away at both Citrix and VMware VDI/DaaS at a decent clip too.
Maybe they’re talking about how CSG, the hot new competitor in town is eating Citrix’s lunch, breakfast and dinner. Citrix already died a year ago, as did all the other brands. Citrix is dead, long live Citrix!
