Anyone know what the fate of Workspace One looks like? Im not an employee at VMWare my spouse is and im curious what the outlook looks like. They are an engineer so im hoping that they’ll atleast have a good chance of keeping their job… sorry if this is already posted.

It will be better. EUC is very profitable but about 60% of the revenue has been going into other areas at VMWare. The investment on EUC has been garbage. BC is aware of this and likely to change it. Eventually to sell off or spin off EUC (1-3 years).
"Okta>WS1. It will be sold off."
You're obviously not part of EUC. You should learn what WS1 is and then come back and correct your statement.
Okta>WS1. It will be sold off.
EUC is going to be just fine for the foreseeable future. What the overall EUC market will look like in 5 years time is a different question, but the same can be said for all areas. I am sure there are plans for further innovation, but only time will tell. In terms of the acquisition, it’s being reported that EUC will be an autonomous business within Broadcom.
EUC should go as separate BU under Broadcom directly.
(EUC would be spun off VMware)
We currently don't now if Broadcom want to sell this entity, but going solo would ensure this possibility
"The issue is WS1 is so convoluted"
Agreed, inherent complexity is the exact same issue with a Citrix solution. That's why a 50% off list price promotion for VMW WS1 to replace Citrix Workspace was dead on arrival. The total cost of ownership for a complex software deployment is unacceptable.
CIOs don't want to switch between legacy EUC apps, they want a simplified backend experience for IT SysAdmins, and a modern SaaS UI for end-users.
The issue is WS1 is so convoluted
WS1 Freestyle (SCCM Lite)
WS1 Access (Okta competes against it and many other products have a "SaaS app catalog")
WS1 UEM (Mobile Iron, Jamf, Intune, insert many MDM's here)
WS1 Mobile Threat (not even VMware just branded as WS1)
Horizon does compete but I have been seeing single digit growth not double digits by any means it is certainly saturated. WS1 growth last I knew was not great and I believe some quarters was negative because of MSFT just throwing Intune at folks or the lack of features.
Just review the current IDC and Gartner assessments of the UEM and VDI marketplace. As you'll see, both VMware and Citrix are selling into a saturated market where little or no growth is likely, in the future.
That's why leading industry analysts have stopped updating their reports on these legacy EUC software market segments. Any significant new growth will be in the SaaS streaming app sector where nimble startups are offering lower-cost and less complex solutions to the Hybrid Working EUC demands of enterprise customers.
“According to BC integration plan they are moving away from Workspace One to Octa on day1. So if BC is not going to use it themselves then most probably they will spin it off.“
Workspace is not a product. It’s a suite of projects under the EUC portfolio. Access is what you mean as needing a competitor to Okta, although the overlap is small. Horizon competes against all the VDI players and UEM competes with Microsoft.
Day one will not see much change for EUC, but there is the potential for a later sell off depending on how it does financially.
WS1 and Okta are direct competitors, although WS1 has more products under its umbrella. Both have a SaaS app catalogue and and IDP. Pivtoal was an Okta customer, until acquired by VMware.
Everybody knows when everybody knows. Right now, no one knows.
I said that previously. Perfect indication whether your department will be ok is to think
- Does your department actively contribute to revenue.
- Are you and your team busy 8hrs a day
- Could the company live without your department.
It's mostly going to be spurn off. They are going to be fine for BC merge and will be determined by new owner.

Okta (SaaS IDP) has nothing to do with WS1
EUC wont have bright future moving forward in BC era @:@

No one knows.
Will be sold off.
