Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Aetna layoff

Is the Aetna layoff a mass layoff or are they slowly phasing Aetna employees out? I'm specifically in California. My boss has said he hasn't heard anything but I don't believe him because he clearly knew about the last layoff and lied he was unaware

Let's get things clear Woonsocket and Hartford are going to be closed down completely. The New US main office is New York. Everyone and everything is being shifted as we speak out of the US every single job. Very few people will be left. Look at Walgreens They are in the verge of total collapse. The Medicare and Medicaid will be sent overseas even in breach of state and Federal laws they don't care. The same will take place with the other companies United Healthcare, Cigna, Kaiser Permante. They see the US as a total write off. They are expecting Trump to end Healthcare across the board and preparing because they will be no more handouts.

It's not necessarily going to India but the India company cognizant has a huge presence for Aetna. These employees work very cheap as the company is out of India. Those working in Hartford in the 'a' building remember it being referred to as Little India. These are all outsourced employees. Aetnas business or whatever's left of it will be phased out to cognizant

"It’s not being phased out". I beg to differ. It's being sent to India including the Medicaid and Medicare. It's fine in the US. The writings on the wall people better face it this is happening in all businesses across the board not just here. The Collective of CEOs in the Worldwide Ted Gurner speech said the economies must be broken, unemployment must be 40% and raise prices as high as you can to break the lazy workers who think they actually matter. Mr. Gurner made it clear cheap is better send work overseas and bust up unions, minimum wages, vacation pay, weekends, holidays, 40 hour work week rest to pre 1890 labor rules you will be cattle for your masters.

  1. Aetna Insurance 2. CVS Pharmacy 3. CVS PBM all to be phased out a new Company with a new name will emerge as a National Home Health Business they will be Doctors and Nurses Part time workers. House calls and clinics only no need for Insurance or Pharmacists. All gone all employees in upper echelons up to the board will be offshored.

Slow phaseout until a sudden cease of operations like Hmn. I’m of the belief that the long term plan is to establish CVS based mini HMO hubs and drain the need for Aetna employer insurance. Like anything else, it’s not CVS action to actually be the least expensive and win by volume. It’s the insanity of overpricing and not meeting anyone’s expectations consistently, be it “colleague” or customer staffing needs. Short term gain brings long term pain and the cycle repeats. They are chasing the huge boomer market in government programs and failing to recognize the many ways that their employees go above and beyond so the companies make money on the commercial side and other areas. The margin of job elimination (5,000 colleagues) taken was the breaking point for many of the necessary customer functions to operate. Nearly two months later we still don’t see a restructuring plan from any leader other than perfunctory rosters of names and rebranding. The fact the new commercial leader is FROM Hmn is the writing on the wall. He has the experience needed for the wind down while squeezing every drop of $ left regardless of human cost.
