Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

What’s next?

So what do we think is next in terms of mid market for staples? This is all so uncertain and would love to hear others opinions.

What is everyone’s thoughts on the current leaders? Managers up to AVPS? I just started and read these so it makes me curious what current B2Bs think?

No one wants to go back to hitting the streets unless you are young and new to the sales industry. B2Bs will create new masters just to get a win regardless of the size and retention. Let's be honest, it is impossible to hit our numbers, therefore make money without being able to work current accounts and grow ships that we know will stick. It will definitely be hard to keep true talent and unfortunately the turnover will be like it use to be.

The B2B job unfortunately is now going to go back to an entry level sales job again. Not a bad thing but the burn and turn of sales reps will wear thin on people making it hard to retain good talent and hit numbers unless you have true allstar talents.

Any new updates? This place was on fire last couple weeks.

B2Bs leaving is currently unfolding and was likely part of the plan.

I want to see more posts from the mad person ranting.

Back to 2016 and not making $$$$ and turnover galore. Turnover was not like it use to be since there was good money to be made. B2Bs will start leaving on their own.

To the two comments below. Matt was a formal Sales Manager for Inside Sales, he actually does know sales whether you like him or not personally. The team the other person is referring to, I believe (don’t quote me) is the process or prospect team something like that.

Matthew I has never carried a sales bag in his life. You are drinking the koolaid with a funnel if you think he is “cool”. He is disconnected. Ken is a great human! But I have to say I do agree that with the person who posted about our future being more in the new master world. The email we received yesterday with the new master rankings it is beginning to feel like 2016 all over again.

Ken has always been cool in my book, Matt too. Plus the team that deploys out new masters isn’t them it’s a different team

Who rules the world now you ask…Ken Stafford. Where to you stand up against your peers. Get ready for B2B world 4.0 of new masters only. Can’t wait for Halloween themed call day!

I think it will go back to when we didn't make much commission. The commission structure will definitely change. I don't think that they thought reps could make so much. Wayne was the one who pushed for reps making money. And now reactivation approval will be nearly impossible and working on ship to's. I hope I am wrong.

If you love Staples…get out of mid market. Plenty of other nice jobs to go to. If you don’t trust your leader….biggiity bounce

The AVPs, especially the northern ones were tasked to turn into hatchet men. Either due to Marty’s orders or personal feelings towards the old C Bros. Such a sad time of good people effected by bad leadership.
