During the CA Technologies acquisition I could have sworn the severance was two weeks of pay for every year of service maxing out at 40 weeks. Maybe 38.
Did Broadcom cut severance down to 1 week of pay for every year of service?

The policy is VMware's and its 2 months and then 1 week per year of service.
Bash money was locked into events. It had to be burned on an event. I wish they would have notified managers much earlier so we could at least do some team meet-ups. There are teams that have worked together since before COVID and have never met each other.
But I get it. VMware wants to do a send-off to the good days.
Ask the c-suite if severance has changed for them.
I feel like “one final beer bash” would have sounded less like a fire sale and less like people making out like bandits spending as much money as possible than “mega bash”. The sentiment is fine but the messaging is tone deaf.
Although 2 weeks per year would be nice. Preferable to spend $ on this than the "mega bash" parties coming up.
It’s following VMware’s severance policy; not Bcom’s.
