Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

Tim Wentworth Possible New CEO of Walgreens

Story just broke today that Walgreens is considering naming Tim Wentworth as new CEO.

Tim was the CEO of Express Scripts, a pharmacy benefit manager that cut Walgreens a raw deal on reimbursement rates.

Tim managed the deal that sold Express Scripts to Cigna, giving a clue as to if Walgreens wants to also sell itself.

So the rumor was true. Tim is in.

Will we see WBA flushing all the bad stuff on the books to be reflected in the annual report tomorrow? With 13 days remaining for the interim CEO, will she clean house so the new dude doesn’t have to dirty themselves?

Is the Tim Wentworth story what caused Walgreens stock to pop $1.34 on Friday?

At this point WBA would consider Mickey Mouse.

It’s too early for anyone to be crowned the next golden child to lead the SS Walgreens out of the iceberg field. You still have Roz with her life raft attached to the ship being dragged around until February as special consultant on how to enlarge gapping holes in the hull along with Mr. CIO Wang believing he can make the ship fly by sprinkling the magic fairy dust of technology.
